Description
8th grade, yaaaay.
My teacher submitted this to the Middlesex County Art Fest (in new jersey). It got promoted to the State Fest. Ahh... those were the days when i thought i was well prepared for art in highschool..... Wrong. VERY wrong. What a naive noob i was.
Anyway... i drew it (you can still see the pencil marks, cause i was lazy), then watercolored it, then outlined all of the color-changes i could find... like.. "oh, there's a little tiny distinct change in shade/tint/color here... -sharpie-". Like that. So, the inking part was done last.
It's called decay because... all of those 'color changes' in the green steams suggest it. That's what one critiquer said to me once (who ended up being my arts hs teacher the next year) -- that it looked like it was dying -- decaying.
....or we can say that i just like Rie Fu's song, "Decay" (both the english and japanese version). XD
